Lyctids infest which type of wood?

Large-pored hardwoods (oak, ash, hickory) not typically pine or soft woods

Lyctids (true powderpost beetles) attack hardwoods that have large, open pores—ring-porous woods. The large earlywood vessels in species like oak, ash, and hickory provide easy entry and feeding sites for the larvae, so these woods are typical hosts. Pine and other softwoods have small, uniformly distributed pores and a different structure that makes them largely resistant to Lyctid infestation. Metals obviously cannot be infested. So, Lyctids infest large-pored hardwoods such as oak, ash, and hickory.
